Tower-type Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO)

The tower-type RTO, also known as a fixed regenerative thermal oxidizer, is commonly seen in the form of an RTO with an internal regenerator at present. Its main components include reversing equipment, regenerators, a combustion chamber, thermal insulation structure, burners, fans, and a control system. According to the number of regenerators, the tower-type RTO can be divided into two-tower type, three-tower type, and multi-tower type. Among them, the three-tower type RTO is the most common type at present. The three regenerators respectively perform the functions of heat absorption, heat release, and cleaning, and operate alternately in turn. The process outlet is connected to the RTO through a pipeline system. When the RTO reaches the operating temperature and all safety conditions and process interlock requirements are met, the intake valve will open, allowing the gas containing VOCs to flow into the RTO. The waste gas to be treated enters the regenerator under the action of the process fan.
